Livin' on the Edge

More whacko dreams last night. This is what I remember.

I kept hearing a popular new rap song, which sampled Aerosmith's "Livin' on the Edge" (I'm pretty sure there IS no such song, and therefore, I came up with the idea in MY subconscious, so if you steal it, I will hunt you down). It started by playing the first measure, and then resting for the same amount of time. Then it played it again, and the artist started rapping. In the middle of the song, where the music gets a little angrier ("Tell me what you think about the situation, complication, aggrivation is getting to you..."), the rapper was full-on screaming. I couldn't stand the song, but since it sampled awesome Aerosmith music, I listened to it every time I heard it.

Anyway...the last part of my dream before I woke up this morning involved Anastasia and Brady moving back to the US. They moved to Orem, not too far from Stasia's mom's house. Kimber had apparently moved to the same area as well.

Anastasia invited me to come and visit her and see her new house, and being the wonderful, loyal friend that I am, I went :D (and listened to the new rap song in the car). On the way, I stopped at Kimber's house to say "hi" quickly. She had a completely empty house, and was cleaning it like crazy. I only stayed for a second, and then went to Stasia's. When I got there, Ernest was sitting on the doorstep, waiting for someone to let him in. For some reason, I kept calling him "Magoo." I even remember thinking "He doesn't look like Magoo," and yet I still called him that. Stasia opened the door and heard me calling him by the wrong name, and she was PISSED. She gave me a guilt trip for not knowing his name, which frustrated me, because I DID know his name.

After the guilt trip, Stasia let me in and promptly showed me a house-warming gift from Kimber. It was a stuffed cat with a vibrating device in it (like a Tickle-Me Elmo), and it was sitting in a pet bed/basket. She placed Ernest on the stuffed cat and he just sat there calmly. The phone rang, and she went to answer it, but first instructed me to not let Ernest get out of his basket. As soon as she left, Ernest tried to get up. I gently pushed him down, and as I did, the stuffed cat scratched my arms. Ernest tried to get away again, so I pushed down on his back more firmly, and the stuffed cat scratched me harder.

All of a sudden, the rap song started playing on a radio or something. I'm sitting there fighting with Ernest AND a vibrating, stuffed cat, the annoying (yet I love it) song is playing, and Anastasia comes back into the room and not only gets furious with me for fighting with Ernest and his toy, but also tells me that Kimber just called and is upset that I came to visit Anastasia and barely stopping to tell her "hi." I tried to defend myself by saying that Stasia has been in Germany for 2 years and I've seen Kimber WAY more than that, but Stasia was still disappointed in me. I got really frustrated and angry, and that's when I woke up. With "Livin' on the Edge" stuck in my head.

Here's the kicker. In the car this morning on the way to school, "Livin' on the Edge" came up on shuffle. Out of the THOUSANDS of songs on my iPod, that came up today. First I dream about eating pizza and wake up with pizza breath, now I'm composing hit rap songs and then hearing the sample source when I wake up. And to top it all off, Kimber's mad at me. UGH!!!
