I Feel the Earth Move

Holy crap! Long time no blog!!!

The reason for my lack of blogging, for those who don't know (and I suppose for those who actually care) is that I went back to school last month. Yep. FINALLY. And it's a block schedule, which means at least an hour of algebra every day. So, all of the time I used to have to devote to blogging and messing around online while I watched TV is now devoted to doing algebra while I watch TV. I kick @$$ at it, though. After six weeks, I'm still ranked #1 in my class and I have gotten an A on every single test and most homework assignments. WOOHOO! I'm acing (sp?) my health class, too. This fall, I'll just have a couple generals left, and then I can move right into the theatre ed program, hopefully.

I've been recording lots of stuff lately as well as getting ready for my upcoming production of It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman! at the SCERA. I'm music directing. I also designed the poster artwork for the show.

(Yes, I know the "S" logo is different. We had to change it at least 30% because of copyright laws.) I'm stoked for it. We had our first round of auditions last night, and we finish initial auditions tonight. The show will hopefully be cast this weekend, and then I get to launch into rehearsals again.

The last 3 months have been AWESOME without working on a show. I've gotten caught up on SO many movies I've missed over the last few years (all the while doing algebra, of course). I've gotten to spend time with all of the people I care about in my life. It's going to be hard going back to 4-5 rehearsals a week, even when it's a show that I love with all my heart and I'm excited for it.

Here are some of the things that I've loved over the past three months: Alias, introducing The Office to friends, Six Feet Under marathons, the new Keane CD, Jersey Boys, Underworld, Justice League, new flavors of sorbet, being Super Moses, Footballers' Wives, Robot Chicken, Sports Night marathons, Superman Returns, Carole King, Coupling marathons, trying to make a synthesized porno-sounding guitar sound, and sadly enough- algebra.

I'm actually kind of missing youth theatre, too. I'm glad it starts in just over a month. By the time it starts, I'll be needing it.

Okay. Now that the catching up is pretty much out of the way, it's time to use my blog as a venting space, the way God intended. :)

Vent #1: Have you ever felt like someone is invading your life? Almost like they've analyzed it, broken it down into several areas, and then attacked every single aspect and tried to edge you out? Job(s), friends, hobbies, interests... Sometimes I just want to be like the house in The Amityville Horror and scream "Get out!" I was here first.

Vent #2: I hate seeing friends stuck in dead end situations. When they know they're not happy, and even though they can see what to do to fix it, they don't. It frustrates the snot out of me. What do you do to help someone who doesn't want to be helped? *Sigh*

Wow. That was good for me. Only two vents in a whole blog. Especially considering the fact that this is over a month's worth of info. Go me!
