Today after rehearsal for High School Musical (which I want to just die. Die a slow, horrible, painful death...) two of the cast members who didn't need to be at today's rehearsal walked in and told me they had a present for me. They had walked all around Wal-Mart looking for something that they thought I'd like, and finally settled on "a fish named Tobias" (they know of my love for Arrested Development).
I'm not a huge animal lover, but I couldn't just let him die, so on my way home, after picking up Kaylee and Braden for our scary movie marathon, I went to Kmart to buy him a home and some food. The whole time, I was freaking out that little Tobias was going to die. Who knows how long he had been in his little bag by now? And it didn't help that I was having a hard time keeping him still in the car or that it was so bloody hot that his water MUST have been near boiling. And we got stuck behind idiots in Kmart who couldn't get their credit cards to work and had to go out to their car in the middle of the transaction to get more cards to try. (Sidenote: why is there ALWAYS only one register open at Kmart? Seriously. There were 10 people in line before they finally called somebody up to open a second line, and it's like that everytime I go there.)
We finally got to my house and set up the tank (they didn't have any bowls, and goldfish tanks are surprisingly cheap at Kmart) and Tobias had a home. We put him in it, fed him some lunch and then let him play the rest of the day. I'm still convinced that he's going to die, because I kill plants and animals unintentionally. And I think he's lonely and needs a friend next week (I'm debating between a Lindsay, a GOB, or a Carl Weathers). But, in the meantime, he is my new friend.
And now, I present to you, Dr. Tobias Fünke. (Sorry it's blurry. He was too excited to stop moving.)
