A Sonnet

In my Shakespeare class (which I love), we were given an assignment to write a sonnet. Even though it in no way compares to the Bard, I thought I would share. Note that it's near-perfect iambic pentameter. :)

Sonnet 1 by Jeremy Showgren
My love is always there to greet my face.
I love the way she always seems to glow.
She really seems to brighten up my place
Whenever she's around. I love her so.
Sometimes we like to sit back and relax
At day's long end. She brings me lots of joy.
Sometimes she makes me have to cover tracks
From wasting time. Some say she is my toy.
She really knows just how to make me laugh.
Occasion'ly she even makes me cry.
She teaches many things on my behalf
And makes me feel like such a lucky guy.
I think of her, my gift from up above.
My tv, whom above all else I love.

And since I always have to have a video in my blogs (I stole the idea from Amy. Have I ever mentioned that?) here is another tribute to Shakespeare- featuring the Beatles. (In case you don't recognize it, it's from A Midsummer Night's Dream.)
